The Board of Directors consists of representatives from the member companies within the Chamber and are elected at the Annual General Meeting. Board members are appointed for a period of four years and can be reappointed for a second and final term of four years. The governing board elects from its midst a chairman, a vice-chairman and a treasurer. The Board appoints the Managing Director, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations and ensures continuous updates on issues of importance to the Chamber. Five committees have been established to support its work; the Executive, Finance, Nomination, Member and Tech Committees respectively. You can read more about our governance in the Articles of Association.

Honorary Members
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce is very proud to have five honorary members appointed by the general assemblies during the years of the executive board’s nomination. The honorary members have all been of particular service to the Swedish Chamber of Commerce over the years, and the Swedish Chamber appreciates their loyalty and contribution very much.

Words of the Honorary Chairperson
“I came to the Netherlands in September 2021. At the time we were still living with Covid and it was a bit of a challenge to build a network for a newly arrived ambassador. I was invited to become honorary chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands, and I was very happy to accept. It was, and is, an honour. The Chamber offered a splendid networking platform, albeit initially online. A few years beyond covid networking is easier but the Chamber remains a crucial platform. It is the case for me personally and for all the members, I am sure.
The relevance of the Chamber is, I think, ultimately down to two essential characteristics. First of all, its members list is impressive, including leading Swedish businesses from so many sectors. Secondly the chamber is remarkably energetic, and every year manages to organize and convene an impressive number of events.”…

Words of the Chairperson
“As we look back on 2024, it has been a record-breaking year for the Chamber. Most of our events were fully booked, including our signature event on December 6—the Sustainability & Innovation Summit, “AI Driving the Sustainable Transformation.”
It is clear that our strategic focus on sustainability and diversity, supported by innovation, technology, branding, and marketing, is the way forward. These themes continue to strengthen the ties between Sweden and the Netherlands. In times of global challenges and an urgent need to reduce CO₂ emissions, collaboration is more crucial than ever. Together, we play a vital role in maintaining open communication and working towards sustainable solutions for the future.” …
